Dr. Bender is actively involved in various community organizations, including the Chamber of Commerce, Fort Atkinson Rotary, and the Fort Atkinson Community Foundation. Along with his wife, Donna, Dr. Bender enjoys traveling, boating, hiking, skiing, and spending time with their three adult children and five grandchildren.
Lactation Consultant
Amber has been a dental assistant for over 13 years. Amber joined BKS Dental in 2021, where she immediately began learning about tethered oral tissues (TOTS) with Dr. Bender and Dr. Stafford. Since then, Amber has taken courses throughout the U.S. to learn more about how tongue and lip ties affect infants, children, and adults.
Several notable course completions are the Tongue-Tied Academy course by Dr. Richard Baxter and the Healthy Children Project Center for Breastfeeding Lactation Counselor Training Course. Amber is working towards receiving her certification through the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice (ALPP) as a CLC (certified lactation counselor). Amber states, “The most satisfying part of my job is watching a mom overcome a breastfeeding struggle and achieving success in helping a baby thrive.”
Amber grew up in Fort Atkinson and currently resides with her husband and four children. During her free time, she does enjoy working on home improvement projects and spending time with family and friends.

Certified Lactation Counselor and Dental Assistant
Jenny, our dental assistant with over 21 years of experience, is passionate about helping mothers and babies in their breastfeeding journey. She received her certification as a CLC (certified lactation counselor) in January 2021 and has since been helping patients thrive in their breastfeeding experience.
Jenny has also taken several courses throughout the U.S. and Canada to learn about tethered oral tissues (TOTS) and how they affect patients of all ages. When she is not at work, Jenny loves to travel with her family and friends to warm destinations and has completed multiple half marathons, a full marathon, and a half iron man.
